Mountains to Sea DLR Book FestivalDún Laoghaire Rathdown has an extraordinary literary heritage, even by Irish standards. In recognition of this, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council organised the inaugural Mountains to Sea DLR Book Festival last September. It was a resounding success and preparations are at an advanced stage for Festival 2010.

In the meantime, the council have announced the launch of the Mountains to Sea Festival Podcast Series. Three episodes have already been published: a double bill event featuring the writers John Boyne and Patrick Gale; an interview with Sebastian Faulks; and the festival’s keynote event, The Beckett Address, delivered by the American writer Paul Auster. (MP3, 1:27, 52MB)

Over the next several weeks, 11 more episodes will be published, providing an opportunity to savour once again the cream of the 2009 festival programme.

Visit the Mountains to Sea Festival website to download the podcasts as they appear, or subscribe to receive episodes automatically using iTunes (the original feed is here).

The Mountains to Sea Festival Podcast joins the already well established series published by DLR County Library Service, which contains recordings of more than 25 literary events held over the last 3 years. Both podcast series are produced for the Council by Edgecast Media.
